May News

If April showers bring May flowers, this month should be filled with flowers! Speaking of blooming, the Yoga Teachers-in-Training are just past the halfway point of their training. It has been so fun to see their growth and share in their learning! We are also excited about some upcoming events this month and looking forward to the summer. Krystal is hosting her famous Crunch+Brunch Pilates class on 5/14. This May Zohra has two Continuing Education (CE) Classes: The Nervous System & Polyvagal Theory on 5/18 and Trauma & Anxiety Through the Lens of Yoga on 5/21. On 5/22, Kate will be presenting Foot Reflexology Basics.

Looking ahead to June, we welcome Brianna Taylor and Andre Ignacio Dimapilis for Restore & Renew with Sacred Sounds on 6/5. We are thrilled to welcome Rachel Jones from Cloverfall Designs on 6/18 for her relaxing Group Painting Class. Later in the month, Brianna, Lorissa, and Cassandra will be teaming up to present A Day of Yoga at the Vineyard, a nourishing day of yoga, meditation, and relaxation at Confluence Art Center/Domaine Margelle Vineyards on 6/25.

We have a new class schedule for May with a few exciting additions. You’ll notice Intermediate - Hot Vinyasa added on Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday mornings with Krystal. We also have a new Restorative Flow + Yoga Nidra on Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm with Julie. Michael has transitioned his Tuesday evening Gentle/All-levels Yin class back to in-studio at 6 pm each week. Cassandra will be teaching Therapeutic Yoga on Thursdays at 10:30 am. Thank you for all of your feedback in helping us adjust class times and options.

We look forward to sunny days in the studio and hearing about all of your summer plans. Thank you for sharing this space, sharing your smiles, and showing up! You are appreciated.

With Gratitude,

Lorissa

COMING UP QUICK

CRUNCH+BRUNCH

Sunday, May 14 | 11:30 am - 1 pm

Pie and Lattes..oops, we meant Pilates! With breakfast!

Moving well goes really well with mock-tails. Pilates is a mind–body workout based on six principles: centering, concentration, control, precision, breath, and flow. You don’t need any experience for this class, every exercise is adaptable for any body. Bring a friend and a container for leftovers!

FOOT REFLEXOLOGY BASICS

Sunday, May 22 | 6:30 - 7:30 pm

"Foot Reflexology is more than just a foot massage. In this class, I’ll introduce you to this special form of therapeutic work for the feet. We’ll talk about how it works, what the techniques are, and how to use it yourself. I’ll provide a demonstration and walk you through the basics so you can start using Foot Reflexology for your loved ones at home. Please bring a partner to practice on. You can bring a yoga mat, cushions, or anything you need to get comfortable. We will also have yoga mats, blankets, and bolsters available for use." - Kate Saunders

RESTORE AND RENEW WITH SACRED SOUNDS

Sunday, June 5 | 7 - 8:30 pm

Join Brianna and Andre in taking a sacred pause to rejuvenate your body and soul and restore your reserves. Brianna will guide a mellow movement experience for all levels including gentle and restorative yoga, sweet stretching, deep breathing and meditation. Andre opens the portals of sound vibrations utilizing sacred instruments such as Himalayan bowls, gong, rattle, buffalo drum and didgeridoo, to support breaking up stagnation, deep relaxation, and uplifting intentions for healing.

This experience is geared towards releasing anxiety and tension, accessing ease in body and mind and creating space for rejuvenation and reflection.

A DAY OF YOGA AT THE VINEYARD

Join us for a day of… Yoga, meditation and relaxation at Confluence Arts Center/Domaine Margelle Vineyards! Lorissa, Brianna and Cassandra will guide you through gentle hatha yoga, a creative vinyasa experience, and a restorative Yin session to awaken, rejuvenate and replenish the body. Enjoy guided meditation and journaling sessions for centering and intention setting for summer inspirations, along with a meditation walk on the beautiful vineyard grounds for reflection and integration.
