May we suggest outdoor yoga?

The sunny days bring renewed energy as scents and sights of nature offer a familiar rhythm and grounding. There are some new additions to the class schedule this month, like Saturday morning Hot Vinyasa and Sunday morning 26+2. Wanting to try a yoga class or get back to your practice but aren’t sure where to begin? Any of these class options is a great place to start:

  • Beginning/Gentle Hatha on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm

  • Community Yoga (free) Sundays at 4 pm

  • All Levels Hatha Saturdays at 8 am and Fridays at 1030 am

Looking for a low-impact class? Here are some gentle options:

  • Adaptive Yoga Mon/Wed at 11 am, Tue/Thur at 10:30 am

  • Therapeutic Yoga Saturdays at 9:45 am

  • Livestream Gentle Yoga Mondays at 10:30 am

OUTDOOR EVENTS


Summer Yoga in the Park June 20, July 13, July 27, Aug. 10, Aug. 22 Salem Art Association and Common People Yoga are excited to join together again this summer to host special outdoor yoga sessions on the lawn behind the Bush Barn Art Center & Annex. This is a 60-minute Vinyasa Yoga Flow class led by Lorissa Addabbo.





RoofTop Yoga + Mimosas @ The Independence Hotel June 10 & 24, July 8 & 22, Aug. 5 & 19 For a limited time only, we will be gathering on Saturdays at 9 am on the RoofTop, well-known for its front-row 360* view of the Willamette River. Within feet of class is the famous nest of Ospreys Olga & Ollie, who will be around for the season.





A Day of Yoga at the Vineyard Sunday, June 11 | 10:00 am - 3 pm Yoga, meditation, and relaxation at Confluence Arts Center/Domaine Margelle Vineyards! Lorissa and Brianna will guide you through a creative yoga experience to rejuvenate and replenish the body. Enjoy guided meditation, journaling sessions, a meditation walk on the vineyard grounds, and sound baths. A light lunch will be provided, topped off with a glass of Domaine Margelle wine to toast the day.

Inversion Workshop Saturday, May 6 | 2 pm - 4:30 pm Are you ready to go upside down? Join Julie and Leslie for a 2.5-hour workshop for a playful and safe exploration of various inverted poses. We’ll focus on headstand, handstand, forearm balances, and restorative inversions, with a variety of options for each pose. 





Ecstatic Dance with DJ Sloan Saturday, May 6 | 7 pm Ecstatic Dance is a form of dance in which the dancers, sometimes without the need to follow specific steps, abandon themselves to the rhythm and move freely as the music takes them, leading to trance and a feeling of ecstasy. The dance serves as a form of meditation, helping people to cope with stress and attain serenity.




Mother's Day Yoga & Brunch @ The Holman Sunday, May 14 | 10 am - 12 pm Do you have Mother's Day plans? Start your day with Yoga and Brunch at the brand-new hotel located in downtown Salem, The Holman! Modern architecture ballroom space for yoga and a breakfast buffet presented by their new restaurant, Pacific Standard.





Restore & Renew with Sacred Sounds Sunday, June 4 | 6 pm - 7:30 pm Join Brianna and Andre in taking a sacred pause to rejuvenate your body and soul and restore your reserves. Brianna will guide a gentle and restorative yoga experience for all levels. Andre opens the portals of sound vibrations utilizing sacred instruments such as Himalayan bowls, gong, rattle, buffalo drum, and didgeridoo.
