November is here, and just like that we are in the last two months of 2022! We were building up a big Yo-vember Yoga Challenge this month and then realized that’s not what any of us need! With holidays and year-end goals and all that we try to cram into the month, we need less. So for November we are scaling down our events into a few special restorative options and opening up our hearts for more rest. I hope that you can find some quiet space, and if yoga can fulfill that need for you, we are here for it.
This month, we have a Thanksgiving day donation-based yoga class collecting food and monetary donations for the Marion-Polk food share. We will also be collecting blankets all month for our unhoused neighbors. This month is often a reflection on gratitude. I want to honor that by sharing my sincere appreciation for our yoga community. Through all the ups and downs of life, the support and love have been more than I could have ever imagined. Referring friends to the studio, helping out when our team has been out sick, encouraging each other, lifting up our new teachers, and just coming to class, all mean so much. Thank you for your support, encouragement, laughter, and hugs. If you still want a challenge, challenge yourself to make November “YOU-vember” and take the rest you need to stay healthy and refreshed. See you on your mat. In Gratitude, Lorissa

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT
Stephanie Younkin
"I’ve been a student of yoga for about 10 years. I started as a means to improve my flexibility and prevent injuries after years of running and weight training, but I kept coming back to it for the mind-body connection.
I have a nursing background and 15 years of fitness experience as a certified personal trainer and a group fitness instructor. But it is my yoga practice that has taught me a gentler and kinder way of treating my body and handling the stresses of life through non-judgment. I believe yoga can give us the tools to calm our nervous systems through mindfulness and awareness not just on, but off the mat as well.
I am excited to say that I have recently completed my 200hr yoga teacher training with Dr. Zohra Campbell from Indigo Wellness. My teaching style is a strength based Hatha flow incorporating breath with movement, alignment and balance while giving modifications to make it accessible to all."
