Leaves are changing and so are we!

Fall is here, and as the leaves are changing, we have some exciting changes to share at CPY as well! I’ve been the solo owner of Common People Yoga for the past two years. It has been an amazing experience, and now it's time to grow! I’m thrilled to announce that CPY ownership will expand to a team of 3! Meg Boyd and Kym Hermann will join me as co-owners of CPY. They both bring big energy, incredible talents, and a love for this community. Our goal is to continue to improve the experience at CPY with connection, community, and fresh class offerings. We’ve been working on some big changes and can’t wait to share them with you later this month. Thank you for all of your support of the studio and this community. In gratitude, Lorissa

MEET OUR CO-OWNERS

Kym Hermann Hey there! I'm Kym—yoga teacher, entrepreneur, wife, mom, and proud Mimi to a precious toddler. I'm not just any yoga teacher; I'm a passionate advocate for holistic wellness and the deep connection between the mind and body. My mission is to help others discover the transformative power of yoga and wellness. As a certified 500-hour yoga teacher, my yoga journey has taken me from my mat to the heart of yoga in India. My classes extend beyond physical postures; they invite self-reflection and inner exploration. I aim to be welcoming to all and encourage you to challenge yourself while listening to your body. Personally, I thrive on challenges that promote growth. In addition to my yoga credentials, I'm a Certified Nutrition Consultant and a public speaker. When I'm not on my yoga mat, you'll find me embracing life's adventures. Whether I'm gracefully (or not so gracefully) balancing on my paddle board, carving down the slopes on skis, exploring in my adventure van, or embarking on journeys with my husband, I wholeheartedly embrace the joys of life.

I cherish all that Common People Yoga brings to my life: a profound sense of community, precious friendships, and the joy of shared laughter.

Meg Boyd Hi, I’m Meg. I’m thrilled to be stepping into a co-owner role at Common People Yoga. My favorite part of CPY is the community. Students are diverse, authentic and welcoming. Come as you are, with no pressure and zero pretentiousness. You don’t have to be flexible or stand on your head. (But if you want to, we’ll help you get there!) When I first started practicing yoga, it was for the physical benefits. I had no idea how it would transform my life. My goal is to share yoga with you in a way that meets you where you are and takes you where you want to go. Join my classes for good jams, high vibes, and to feel strong in your body. I bring my experience as an educator to the mat with clear cueing, creative sequencing, and the motivation you need to challenge yourself.

Lorissa Addabbo Hello, I am Lorissa. I have been the proud founder of Common People Yoga since Spring 2021, and I'm so excited to begin sharing my owner title with Kym and Meg. When I found yoga, I realized it was the missing piece I needed to complete my life. The connection to mind, body, and soul amazes me in every class. I have spent my career in healthcare management but felt called to leap into small business ownership, and the community we have built is a highlight of my life. It has been a joy to bring my vision for Common People Yoga to life in creating a welcoming place for all. When not at the studio, I enjoy exploring this beautiful state we call home and adventuring through travel. I love anything that gets me closer to nature, especially hiking, paddle boarding, running, and camping. My fun-loving family includes my husband, son (16), daughter (10), two silly French Bulldogs, and a black cat who runs our household.

My favorite part about CPY is the ability to be a space for people to connect. Connect with themselves, connect with our collective community, and disconnect from the outside world.
